6 Days / 5 Nights

Day 1: Reception at San Juan Airport or Bus Terminal. Accommodation at the selected hotel. At 2:30 PM, the Grand City Tour begins, offering a complete urban and scenic immersion to discover the main landmarks of San Juan's capital. This includes the valuable historical legacy of Sarmiento's Birthplace and the imposing architecture of the Cathedral. The tour continues with a panoramic view of the avant-garde Teatro del Bicentenario, followed by a journey into traditional local flavors with a guided visit and tasting at either Campo de Olivos Olive Oil Mill or the picturesque Finca Sierras Azules Winery. The day culminates along the edge of the impressive Ullum Dam reservoir, an oasis nestled between hills that offers unique sunset postcards before returning to the hotel. Note: The places mentioned may be replaced by others depending on availability and operating hours.

Day 2: Visit Ischigualasto Provincial Natural Park, popularly known as the Valley of the Moon. Declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, this mystical territory will transport you 250 million years into the past through a driving tour that reveals a purely lunar landscape. It is guarded by imposing clay and sandstone formations sculpted by erosion, such as The Mushroom (El Hongo), The Submarine (El Submarino), and the Bowling Green (La Cancha de Bochas). The experience is enriched with a visit to its renowned Natural Sciences Museum, a key research center displaying fossil remains of some of the oldest dinosaurs on the planet discovered in this very San Juan soil. Afterwards, transfer to Villa Unión. Accommodation.

Day 3: After breakfast, one of the most extreme and spectacular high-altitude mountain expeditions in South America will begin as we visit the Laguna Brava Reserve. Departing from Villa Unión, we will venture into the vastness of the La Rioja Andes mountain range at over 4,300 meters above sea level. The adventure begins by discovering the mysterious and historical Diaguita Stars in Vinchina, followed by winding up the fascinating Cuesta de la Troya and stopping at Jagüe, the last settlement before crossing the Reserve's Portal. From there, the road turns into a monumental display of colors as we cross the panoramic viewpoints of Quebrada de Santo Domingo, Vaca Seca, and the impressive multicolored gorge of El Pesebre (The Manger), where the rock looks hand-painted by nature. The journey through this Andean highland will transport us back in time as we pass by the historic stone shelter, Refugio El Peñón—built in the 19th century under President Sarmiento's administration—while flanking the unique rock formations of Cerro Toro, El Pilar, and Cerro Azul. The climax of the trip arrives as we cross the Portezuelo de la Laguna pass to discover, suspended among perpetual volcanoes, the stunning lake of the Laguna Brava Natural Reserve. Here, the wind carries the silence of the puna highlands, and the spectacular Flamingo Bay (Bahía de los Flamencos) delivers an unforgettable postcard of an ecosystem as harsh as it is majestic. Finally, we will head back to the hotel in Villa Unión in the afternoon.

Day 4: After enjoying breakfast, we will embark on a dazzling full-day expedition to the historic city of Chilecito, traveling along one of the masterpieces of Argentine road engineering: the celebrated Cuesta de Miranda. This scenic stretch of Route 40 winds through deep canyons where Earth's tectonics manifest with colossal force, revealing towering rock slabs raised almost vertically at 90 degrees and tinged with an intense red that contrasts spectacularly with the green of the wild flora and the blue of the Andean sky. Upon arriving in the picturesque and sunny City of Chilecito, we will immerse ourselves in the region's rich mining epic of the early 20th century by visiting Station 1 of the Cable Carril (Cableway)—a national historic monument and one of the boldest technological works in the world—and the valuable Mining Museum, which safeguards the stories and relics of the legendary La Mejicana mine. The crowning touch of the day will be experienced as we ascend to Station 2 of the Cable Carril, a strategic viewpoint ideal for enjoying an exceptional panoramic view of the valley, the old cable cars fading into the summits, and the majestic profile of the Nevado del Famatina. Finally, we will return to the hotel in Villa Unión in the afternoon for overnight accommodation.

Day 5: Breakfast. We will depart early toward the majestic Talampaya National Park, where nature strikes with monumental scale as you enter a canyon guarded by vertiginous red rock walls over 150 meters high. During the internal guided excursion, you will discover the rich history of pre-Hispanic cultures captured in ancient petroglyphs, the surprising echo that resounds off the walls of the Gothic Cathedral, and the majesty of The Monk (El Monje) rock formation, all while observing the native wildlife that inhabits this imposing red desert. At the end of the tour, we will head back to San Juan city via the spectacular and scenic Cuesta de Huaco. This road winds through intensely colored geological formations and offers formidable views from its panoramic lookouts, arriving in the city by late afternoon. Accommodation at the selected hotel.

Day 6: Breakfast. Departure transfer to San Juan Airport or Bus Terminal. End of services.
