Day 1: Arrival in San Juan & Grand City Tour

Welcome reception at the San Juan airport or bus terminal, followed by transfer and check-in at your selected hotel. At 2:30 PM, the Grand City Tour begins—a comprehensive urban and scenic journey designed to showcase the main landmarks of San Juan's capital. This includes the rich historical legacy of Sarmiento’s Birthplace Home and the striking architecture of the Cathedral. The tour continues with a panoramic view of the avant-garde Bicentenario Theater, before diving into traditional local flavors with a guided tour and tasting at either the Campo de Olivos Olive Oil Mill or the picturesque Finca Sierras Azules Winery. The day culminates alongside the impressive waters of the Ullum Dam, an oasis nestled among the hills that offers unique sunset views before returning to the hotel. Note: The mentioned sites may be replaced by alternative locations depending on availability and opening hours.

Day 2: Journey to Barreal & The Magic of the Astronomical Night

The day begins with breakfast followed by a morning departure to the charming town of Barreal. You will travel along a scenic route that offers stunning views and the majestic beauty of the Andes throughout the entire drive. Upon arrival, check in at your selected hotel to rest and prepare for a truly unforgettable evening. In the mid-afternoon, we will ascend into the peaks of El Leoncito National Park to visit either the prestigious CASLEO Astronomical Complex or the CESCO Observatory. These world-class scientific centers are located under one of the clearest, most transparent, and light-pollution-free skies on the planet. The technical tour features an exciting look into their cutting-edge facilities, including the massive main telescope, the sophisticated control room, and various scientific research areas. After enjoying a comforting box dinner (included) in this privileged setting, the night reaches its climax with the highly anticipated Stargazing activity. Guided entirely by specialized observatory staff, this fascinating astronomical observation session uses high-powered equipment to unveil the secrets of the planets, constellations, and galaxies visible in the breathtaking Cuyo sky, before heading back to the hotel in Barreal.

Note: The stargazing activity takes place outdoors at the Observatory; warm clothing is highly recommended. If night observation at the Observatories is not possible due to technical reasons, the activity will be conducted by a qualified local provider with the same equipment at a different location in town. This activity is subject to favorable weather conditions.

Day 3: Free Day & Open-Sky Stargazing

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a free day to take optional excursions, go horseback riding, practice land sailing (carrovelismo), or simply relax and take in this beautiful pre-Andean landscape and the cozy surroundings of your lodge. After dinner (not included), we will head out to Pampa El Leoncito for a second Stargazing experience under one of the clearest skies in Argentina. This time, without equipment, you will simply take in the pure magic of a starry sky stretching from horizon to horizon. Return to Barreal.

Day 4: High-Altitude Flavors & Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, enjoy a visit to local producers of aromatic herbs and artisanal jams, or tour a High-Altitude Winery. Afterward, we depart back to San Juan for your outbound transfer to the San Juan airport.
